Yamaha Electric Piano Campaign

May 27, 2008

Yamaha Corporation out of California came to Athens to photograph another ad for a campaign that they were doing with college music professors.  Pete Jutras, a professor at UGA, had been selected. We had had the pleasure of working with Pete before, so Yamaha decided to keep with his comfort level and use ZoomWorks.  It was alot of fun.....it was super hot that day and poor Pete was in a suit, but we kept him powdered and hydrated and Alex Martinez (our photographer) made sure he looked really great in the shot.  Steve, Yamaha's California rep,  was a super laid back guy and that made it all the more enjoyable.

Tracy and Jim

May 6, 2008

Tracy and I had known each other for years.  She called me up when she made the decision to get married out of the country to ask if I would shoot the event.  I didn't hesitate...Dominican Republic, here we come!  It was a fast and furious five days of sunshine, blue waters, great food and really, really good cigars.  Tracy's guests were not only welcoming, but also very
creative. Instead of the typical clinking of the glass to elicit a kiss from the bride and groom, one of her guests took it upon himself to compile a book of love song lyrics. Each table had a copy and when they wanted the happy couple to kiss, they burst into song and the couple kissed every time the word love was sung. Needless to say this was highly entertaining. We were really glad that Tracy and Jim included us in their beautiful island love affair! - Marisu

Elan and Craig

April 26, 2008

I recently shot the coolest couple, Elan and Craig,  at a ranch outside Athens.  They are both horse riders/trainers and really good at what they do.  From their cowboy engagement session to the wedding blowout, no detail was left out.  The pale pink wedding cake was a huge hit, as were the party hats that came out during the reception!  Fun time for everyone...cowboy up! - Marisu

Sumner and Jay

April 12, 2008

The best part about what I do is being there in the moment with two people when they announce to the world that they want to spend the rest of their lives together. It was a joy to be a part of this wedding. I personally know the bride and groom so it makes it even more special. I really loved some of their unique details, like have a bagpiper lead the entourage of wedding party and guests down the street to the reception. The décor- by Jeanie Evans Designs- was also gorgeous! - Shannah

Julie and Steve

April 5, 2008

What a fun wedding! The charm of a unique restaurant in downtown Marietta (Steffan’s Off the Square) gave great ambiance to this celebration. The couple has shared many special occasions at Stefan’s so it made the perfect choice for their reception. The intimate atmosphere really added to the warm, family feeling that surrounded the whole wedding. - Shannah

Kids

April 2008

As a mother of two I feel totally in touch with the childhood experience. That’s what I strive to capture with every child’s portrait. The moments are so fleeting and they change so quickly that I find if I can freeze that certain expression, cute way of walking or perfectly toothless grin of a kid then I’ve really done my job. These moments of a family growing and changing are so precious. I just love providing a way for families to hold on to each memory- and look forward to what the next stage will bring! - Shannah

Pat and Tom's Party

I was happy to be able to visit with Pat and Tom while photographing an engagement bash for their friends Amy and Blair. They have a new house and I was dying to see it.

I met Pat and Tom when I photographed their daughters wedding years ago (she has since moved to the Big Apple with her husband and has a baby boy!). We've stayed friendly ever since.

The house is amazing and the party was a success. Pat's parties are always fun! - Marisu

Engagement Session for Hope and Will

ZoomWorks Studio, March 17, 2008

This session was a lot of fun and it made me excited for the wedding day. It's wonderful to be with people who are so obviously in love and what a privilege to capture that love in images. It will be a great wedding day. It was fun when Will mentioned he loved some pet portraits in a calendar and was excited when he found out we had taken the photos. He saw our annual calendar that we shoot, design and produce as a fundraiser for the Madison Oglethorpe Animal Shelter http://www.zoom-works.com/hype/news.php. -Shannah

Lindsey and Matt

Classic Center, Athens Georgia, March 15, 2008

Despite tornado warnings and a little hail we had a spectacular wedding day with this delightful couple. After the wedding, when the rain stopped the light was so perfect on these two as they walked down the streets of Athens that I was having a total fit of excitement. The day was filled with so much love...and some amazing dance moves by the wedding party.  It will be an event we won't soon forget.  We are looking forward to sharing many more special moments with this couple in the years ahead. -Shannah

Sara and Jim

Callanwolde, Atlanta Georgia, March 8, 2008

It was a little like a fairly tale…just as the bride walks up the stairs the clouds (and snow) drifted away and the sun shines through these gorgeous windows. It set the tone for the whole day. First, Marisu plays the role of fairy godmother as she transforms beautiful Sara via hair & make-up to a gorgeous bride. Then we have a wonderful wedding day - with Marisu and I working the whole event together. And in the end there is no doubt that the bride and groom will live happily ever after. -Shannah

Katie and Tal

St. Simons Island Georgia, December 29, 2007

Katie and Tal were terrific…and so were their families. They put so much thought into bringing family and friends together by the sea and under the stars.  Their beautiful event was in a quaint location on St. Simons Island. They were so welcoming that I felt like an adopted child by the end of the weekend. Not to mention that the two of them are gorgeous together! - Marisu

Katie & Ryan

Georgia Aquarium, February 2008

What an amazing wedding! Not only were the bride and groom (and all the wedding party) a total blast, but the location was spectacular. Of course, you'd expect a little drama...in a good way... when you have two actors getting married. We had a wonderful time and look forward to photographing you guys on Broadway! - Shannah

Owen

Kennesaw, GA  February 2008

I have had the pleasure of working with Jenica and Russ for years, starting with their engagement session (uber-gorgeous couple!) Their first baby, Owen, is becoming quite the little man. He even has his own airplane. Can't you just see this cute face on a baby food jar? - Marisu

Megin & Dean (and baby on the way)

It's so much fun when your clients become your friends. After shooting Megin and Dean's wedding a few years ago we realized we'd be neighbors as we were both building a house in the same neighborhood. Now that their family is growing (with a baby girl on the way!) I had the pleasure of recording this next step in their journey together. I'm anxiously awaiting her arrival so I can continue their story in photographs!
